Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Career Track
This track is designed to teach the basics of building science, with in-depth emphasis on environmentally friendly heat pump technology. Students will gain the practical, workable knowledge necessary to size, install, service, and maintain heat pump equipment. This track involves complex technology, and requires seven weeks, with 30 in-depth class and field training sessions. At the end of the training, you’ll be working alongside our crews, in actual client homes, and getting paid.

Curriculum
Curriculum for this track will be divided into two sections. The first instructional section will be streamed live online, with students attending virtually or in our New York training facility. The second section will take place in-person, divided between classrooms, labs, and practical, on-site fieldwork. The same instructors will teach all classes to ensure quality and continuity, while allowing students and faculty to interact closely – and build relationships that will enhance the learning process.
This division – virtual and in-person – serves two purposes. First, because students must pass their virtual training before beginning their in-person training, they arrive with foundational knowledge on which in-person classes and clinics can build. Second, it reduces costs to both students and The Academy by reducing residential costs that may be necessary for students who live beyond a reasonable commuting distance.
